We're proud to be able to finally announce the lineup for the next release in our series of compilation CDs: 'Hardcore Underground 5'.

Following up on our 'Hardcore Underground Presents: 2010' and 'Fracus & Darwin - Balancing Act' album releases from last year, this project has been a long time in the making. We have worked as hard as we can to ensure that this follow-up allows us to continue ticking as many boxes as possible when it comes to quality, variety, innovation and good value.

Tracklist and further information will follow in the coming weeks.

The album will comprise of a 4xCD Digipak, across which we aim to cover as much exciting music from across the Hardcore spectrum as possible, from established and new artists alike.

CD1: Al Storm & Technikore

We're pleased to welcome the versatile and talented DJ / Production force that is Technikore on board to team up with long standing hero and label-mate Al Storm. Both of these artists have earned their respective places in the industry with consistently strong releases and live appearances.

CD2: Fracus & Darwin Vs. DJ Brisk

With exciting studio collaborations between the three of them this year and a shared ferocious passion for variety, energy and open-minded DJ mixes, HU's Fracus & Darwin finally team up as a duo with DJ Brisk.

CD3: Slipmatt & Entity

It's almost impossible to introduce DJ Slipmatt without using cliches! We're immensely proud to welcome arguably the most influential of Hardcore DJs and producers on board, teaming him up with our own DJ Entity as he makes his much anticipated debut mixing an HU CD.

CD4: Douglas & A.B

Two further exciting debutants join the fray for HU5 to push their exciting and forward thinking sound (and all the various artists that encompasses). As one door closes for the more underground sounds of Hardcore so another opens with plenty of talented and capable artists to continue pushing the music forward well into the 21st century.

For further updates and information please continue to check our website: http://www.hardcoreunderground.info

BOOM!

I think (/hope) you'll all enjoy the mix Alex and I have lined up for this Smile

Yea mate buying this one solely for disc 4. Last one was good to see Kev & Sharkey in the mix, and I'm really glad to see HU supporting the underground still with your disc Smile

Yeah i'm with Stray on this one.

Al Storm and Alf Bamford can suck my balls, commercial hardcore can suck my balls.

Fracus & Darwin vs. Brisk should be pretty damn good, back when i was into UK Hardcore in 2006/7 Brisk was always my favourite DJ. Never got to see him play tho Sad

I've never been the hugest fan of Slipmatt, but i'd be willing to give the mix a good listen to.

A.B & Douglas will be the best CD on here by far, in my opinion. Two of the best UK Hardcore/Freeformish producers on the market today. Quality production from both you and Alex, Douglas. Really looking forward to this one! Smile

Haha yea (and thanks by the way for showing me the thread that got me in my only USH forum war Razz). But this album will do well due to variety, something for everyone and top quality guys all round, though I know for me disc 4 will be the one getting a rinsing Smile

darwin, brisk & fracus disc im looking forward to as collectively they are 3 of my fav non freeform producers.
slipmatt and entity mix is going to be full of sexy breakbeat so you cant go wrong there.
and as for the AB & Douglas mix what can i say, well in AB we have the head honcho of the hard beats collective awesome dj and kick ass producer in his own right, and in douglas we have one of the rising freeform stars with a different and unique sound (his freeformation afterparty set one was on the stand out sets if you werent there).

now we come to my opinions on disc 1. al storm has been around for a long time and up until he sold out to raver baby he was up there with my fav none freeform guys and has been friends with fracus for years and still occaisonaly makes good stuff. technikore im still undecided on some of his stuff is surprisinly good but then the rest of it is just gammer sounding bullshit (gammer make more freeform and some of your crimes against hardcore will be forgiven) all in all its a really good lineup, and way beyond what hardcore heaven have put out !

LONG LIVE UNDERGROUND HARDCORE !

Disc 1 will be half decent. That half is Technikore's.
Disc 2 will be straight-up boring as hell if shit like Hypnotized is anything to go off of. F&D mixing with Brisk guarantees that there will be no variety.
Disc 3 is the only one that shows any promise, but that's only if Slipmatt doesn't commission 20 more remixes of his tracks.
Disc 4 will be stupid and pointless. You might as well buy Nu Energy 100 and World Heavyweight Freeform and play them automixed in Virtual DJ in a random order with no pitch or BPM changing, because that's essentially the quality of all of HBC's DJs except A.B, and he ain't mixing half of it.

Would've preferred this:
Fracus & Technikore (MAYBE Brisk instead, but that could end up too label-centric)
Entity & Thumpa
Darwin & A.B
Who really needs a fourth CD?

Hahaha you serious? You've got no idea about the tracklist and yet have already formed an opinion. Its posts like this that really make me wonder why you post them in the first place. What have you actually got out of posting this? Stick to ush mate, would think with this attitude you'd love it there.

I actually think Douglas & A.B's disc will be quite varied. Their HBC show's usually showcase a mix of artists & labels, and you never quite know what to expect. Plus I've never heard them back to back, so should be interesting.

They're releasing two mixes (if Douglas and A.B are doing separate mixes for the Nukleuz thing, that's 3) within the span of a few months. I don't think any hardcore DJ actually likes enough tracks for that many mixes.
EDIT: Actually, it looks like Nukleuz had the HBC produce a ton of tracks just for their album, so I'll redact this point. Still think it'll turn out that well over half of the tracklist is Nu Energy 100 and WHF, but I didn't mention that I think both of those are good. It's not that the tracks will sound bad, it's that the mixing will be bad. All I need to prove that is the first HBC podcast, GOD that mixing sucked.

DAT-WTR wrote:What have you actually got out of posting this?
Throwing my opinion out there. Blowing off steam unrelated to the post. Starting a discussion about how a mix by A.B and Douglas could possibly go wrong.

DAT-WTR wrote:Stick to ush mate, would think with this attitude you'd love it there.
I'd rather not post this specific opinion on USH BECAUSE other people there will agree with it. Might break all of the Clubland kiddies' minds if they find out it's possible for more than one person to think that a HU project will end badly.

I probably love the music more than you do. I don't love stupid, boring, redundant albums, which this one seems to be.

im looking forward to all the mixes except the slipmatt & entity one, that just sounds lame. as for the previous posts, all i can say is WE WILL SEE, the tracklists for HU5 & Hardcore adrenaline have not been released, so who knows, its too early to say that AB & douglas mix on HU5 will be mostly tracks from other freeform compilations. Worldwide freeform tracks are almost all exclusive to that that cd series, as far as i know the HU series doesnt release the full length tracks with the mixes, were as hardcore adrenaline will, i wont pay for an album mix, ill dowload it for free sumwhere, but ill defo pay for one that gives u the unedited, unmixed singles. so if HU5 comes out as just mixes, having those same songs featured full length on hardcore adrenaline might work out very well for me. this only applies to disc 4 of course

Woa, USH mkII in here!

I think everyone has their prejudice against atleast one of the CD's in here, myself included. Lurker, if you actually read the posts on here, you're the only person who has decided to attack the non-existant track list. Atleast the other comments are based on the fact that they dont like the artists or what they mix in general...

Personally I think you need to climb down from that shire horse and atleast wait for the tracklist or listen to the release before you start attacking the content.

You never know, i maybe really suprised and like every single mix on the release, i doubt it, but i'm willing to give it a listen.

Also, there is simply no way in hell you will have heard all of the tracks on all of the CD's.

In regards to people on USH agreeing with you, surely thats what you want? Or do you prefer that people think you're a closed minded cock who loves to be the voice of contraversy? The problem here is, that most of us do/have read USH, so your opinion is old news.

Let me spell this out, right here, right now...

This is not USH! If you want to post like you're on USH, I suggest you go there. I will not standby and let all of Strays hardwork to build a tolerant Freeform community, where 90% of the people get along turned into a forum full of closed minded haters.

I will not stand for it

Edit: Thread locked, as this forum is not the place for a pissing contest.
